Healthcare professionals offer a service to their patients, but unlike other service providers the clients are people in special circumstances being devoid of their normal state of health. Delivery of excellent patient care and customer satisfaction are the result of the effort of various health care providers, clinicians, nurses, midwives, allied health care professionals and support employees who as a team contribute towards this goal. The Ministry for Health recognises the challenges in contemporary healthcare and have commissioned these education programmes to develop and  empower all employees within the Ministry for Health who are already highly trained in their professional/technical skills with essential non-technical skills. This would improve internal communication, teamwork and  interaction  between staff working within the various healthcare departments of Malta’s healthcare services. The ultimate objective is that of ensuring  patient safety , optimal patient care and patient/relative satisfaction while improving job satisfaction of the employees.
